In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Patricia A. Corbett Distinguished Chair of Musical Theatre, CCM’s Mainstage Musical Theatre Series continues its 2011-2012 season with Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods. The award-winning pairing of new and existing fairy-tales with Sondheim’s witty music and lyrics runs February 23-26 and March 1-4 in Patricia Corbett Theater in CCM Village.
CCM’s Mainstage Opera Season opened last evening with Mozart’s extraordinary take on the Don Juan legend, Don Giovanni.
CCM presents the 15th annual Prism Concert on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 3 p.m. in Corbett Auditorium. This concert event features the CCM Wind Symphony, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Lab Band, Percussion Ensemble and many others performing an eclectic mix of music from around the world. Glenn D. CCM’s Chamber Choir, Chorale, Philharmonia Orchestra and Cincinnati Children’s Choir combine for an unforgettable performance of the grand and romantic The Damnation of Faust. Hector Berlioz’s imaginative work will be presented at Corbett Auditorium at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, featuring cinematic visual elements that are the result of collaboration with CCM’s Division of Electronic Media.
CCM opens its Mainstage opera series with one of the most performed and revered operas in the entire repertoire, Mozart’s Don Giovanni. CCM Professor of Opera and Distinguished Artist in Residence Nicholas Muni directs the talented students of CCM in this timeless tale of a philandering man, his many conquests and his ultimate condemnation. Don Giovanni runs February 9-12 in CCM’s Patricia Corbett Theater on the University of Cincinnati campus.

CCM is offering specially priced YP tickets for this month’s “Moveable Feast” extravaganza. The one-of-a-kind event begins at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 20, and features bite-sized performances by CCM’s “stars of tomorrow,” along with cocktails and dinner-by-the-bite.
