CCM ushers in a new school year with a thrilling lineup of fall Winds Series events and a new Director of Wind Studies, Glenn D. Price. Price comes to CCM from the University of Calgary, where he conducted the University of Calgary Wind Ensemble, and is also an internationally acclaimed conductor, appearing with wind orchestras and festivals around the world.

Under Price’s direction, CCM’s Wind Symphony and Chamber Players will perform a vast array of stirring pieces of the Winds repertoire, including memorable jazz numbers, motifs encompassing the musical worlds of Britain and France and the unmistakable sounds of Stravinsky.

CCM Celebrates UC Homecoming With Free Concerts

CCM’s Concert Orchestra, Chamber Players and Faculty Jazztet will present special concerts bookending the University of Cincinnati’s 2011 Homecoming weekend later on this month. The concerts are free and open to the public, and UC fans and alumni are invited to come to campus and experience CCM’s world-class student and faculty artists in action.

CCM Announces Fall 2011 Calendar of Major Events

CCM is delighted to announce its fall schedule of major performances. Beginning Wednesday, September 28 CCM will present over 50 events, ranging from faculty and guest artist concerts to fully supported opera and musical theatre productions.

CCM Announces Full Schedule of 2011-12 Mainstage Events

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music’s schedule of major performances for 2011-12 is now available! This year’s season includes over 40 major events, ranging from fully staged operas and musicals to Afro-Cuban jazz concerts and holiday-themed choral extravaganzas.

CCM Announces 2011-12 Mainstage Series

Today, we are pleased to announce details for the 2011-12 CCM Mainstage Series of drama, musical theatre and opera productions. This year’s unforgettable Mainstage Series features a moving drama by Helen Edmundson and a ravishing comedy by Tom Stoppard, bold and enchanting musical theatre by Rodgers & Hammerstein and Stephen Sondheim and sublime operas by Mozart and Stravinsky. The series features six fully-staged works, with performances taking place Oct. 27, 2011 through May 13, 2012. Subscriptions are on sale now, single tickets go on sale later this summer.

CCM Choral & Orchestral Series Features Celebrated Works During “Stravinsky Festival”

Lyrical wind music, Russian folk sounds and a rarely performed cantata highlight the College-Conservatory of Music (CCM)’s “Stravinsky Festival,” presented by the CCM Chamber Choir, Chorale, Concert Orchestra and Chamber Players on Sunday, March 6 at 4 p.m. in Corbett Auditorium. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $5 for non-UC students and free for UC students. Earl Rivers, Brett Scott, Mark Gibson and Rodney Winther conduct.

‘Turandot’ Kicks Off CCM Orchestras’ Exciting Winter Series of Concerts

CCM’s Orchestral Studies Program begins the New Year in an exciting collaboration with Central Opera, Beijing, the Greater Cincinnati Chinese Music Society, CCM Chamber Choir, Chorale and Cincinnati Children’s Choir in a momentous concert performance of Puccini’s beloved Turandot. The celebration continues with some of the greatest composers of the orchestral repertoire being featured, including a “Stravinsky Festival” with the CCM Chamber Choir and Chorale and a Gustav Mahler commemoration concert.
