Today, we present footage from the “Make It Better NOW” cabaret hosted by the CCM Tribunal earlier this fall. The event featured performances by a number of our student artists and all proceeds supported The Trevor Project.

Union Baptist Church Presents CCM Alumna’s “Christmas Cantata”

In 1953, Loretta Catherine Cessor Manggrum became the first African American to receive a degree from CCM. On Sunday, Dec. 12, the Loretta Manggrum Chorale under the direction of Eric B. Oliver will honor her legacy with a presentation of A Christmas Cantata (one of Manggrum’s compositions) at Union Baptist Church in Cincinnati. This event begins at 5 p.m. on Dec. 12 and is open to the general public.

Two CCM Faculty Members Collaborate on New Ballet

CCM Professors Miguel Roig-Francolí (Composition and Theory) and Jiang Qi (Dance) are collaborating on a new work set to premiere on December 10 in New York City. Jiang has choreographed a new ballet to Roig-Francolí’s Five Pieces for Orchestra, a work written in 1980. The new ballet, titled Wu/Xing-Five Elements, will be performed by Dance China NY, of which Jiang is Artistic Director.

CCM’s Dance Division opens their season next month with their annual Fall Dance Concert, running Dec. 3-5 in Patricia Corbett Theater. In honor of the event, we present you with a brief introduction to CCM Dance, courtesy of the Presentation Technology and Services Group at the University of Cincinnati.
