NEO, (an acronym for “New, Emerging, Outstanding”) celebrates songwriters primed to pen the next generation of Broadway musicals. The benefit concert occurs on May 16 at the Yorke Theatre Company’s home in Saint Peter’s Theatre. Andre’s song “Shelter” will be performed by Broadway performer Tituss Burgess (The Little Mermaid, Guys & Dolls, 30 Rock.) “Shelter” is from Andre’s song cycle Whisper, Love which debuted at CCM in the Winter of 2010.
Today, we are pleased to announce details for the 2011-12 CCM Mainstage Series of drama, musical theatre and opera productions. This year’s unforgettable Mainstage Series features a moving drama by Helen Edmundson and a ravishing comedy by Tom Stoppard, bold and enchanting musical theatre by Rodgers & Hammerstein and Stephen Sondheim and sublime operas by Mozart and Stravinsky. The series features six fully-staged works, with performances taking place Oct. 27, 2011 through May 13, 2012. Subscriptions are on sale now, single tickets go on sale later this summer.

Cincinnati audiences will get a sneak peak of an original showcase created by the CCM Musical Theatre 2011 graduating class during the annual Musical Theatre Showcase, which runs from March 31 (Friends of CCM benefit performance)-April 2 in the Patricia Corbett Theater. The March 31 Friends of CCM benefit starts at 7 p.m. and features a post-performance celebration and dinner by the bite. The April 1-2 performances take place at 8 p.m. and are free, but reservations are required. Learn more after the jump.
With winter finally loosening it’s icy grip on Cincinnati, we are happy to announce our full spring schedule of major events. CCM presents nearly 1,000 public events throughout the year and offers free admission to many of its performances. All events listed take place on the CCM campus and are free unless otherwise indicated. At 8 p.m. on Oct. 29 and 30, CCM’s Musical Theatre Department will join a costumed Cincinnati Pops Orchestra and the Winton Woods High School Varsity Ensemble for a night of Halloween-themed music at Music Hall, including “ghostly” classical pieces from Bach, Grieg and Wagner along with popular music from The Addams Family, Phantom of the Opera, The Twilight Zone and Ghostbusters.
CCM is pleased to announce details for the 2010-11 CCM Studio Series of opera, musical theatre and drama. This year’s Studio Series features seven productions in CCM’s intimate and versatile “black box” space, the Cohen Family Studio Theater, along with a special Studio Series opera produced in Patricia Corbett Theater and a festival of new dramatic works that will utilize spaces throughout CCM Village.
The Studio Series runs from Oct. 21, 2010 through May 29, 2011. All Studio Series events held in CCM’s Cohen Family Studio Theater are free and open to the general public, although reservations are required. Shipboard shenanigans abound as CCM presents Cole Porter’s Anything Goes. The beloved musical opens Thursday, February 25 and offers an extended run performance, ending with a Sunday matinee on March 7. The show is a vintage affair of fabulous music and dazzling dance, set aboard the S.S. American cruise liner. Anything Goes, performed in CCM’s Patricia Corbett Theater, promises to turn back time to the 1930’s for an evening of irresistible humor and excitement.
