CCM welcomes distinguished UC alumnus Randy Edelman (CCM ’69, HonDoc ’04) back to Corbett Auditorium for one unforgettable evening beginning at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 27. A prominent singer, songwriter, arranger and film scorer, Edelman will bring his film scores to life during this special event concert featuring CCM’s acclaimed Philharmonia Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble.
As a singer/songwriter, Edelman has recorded dozens of solo albums and has toured with popular music acts like the Carpenters and Frank Zappa. His pop songs have been covered by major recording artists including Barry Manilow (“Weekend in New England”) and Olivia Newton-John (“If Love is Real”).
Edelman has also composed over 100 scores for television and film. He wrote the theme to, and scored many episodes of television’s MacGyver and scored dozens of major motion pictures, including The Last of the Mohicans, Gettysburg and DragonHeart. CCM’s Philharmonia and Jazz Ensemble will present these and other works during the Jan. 27 concert event. Edelman, Mark Gibson and Scott Belck conduct.
