One week from today, on Jan. 21, CCM opens its doors to host a very special event: “A Moveable Feast.” Back by popular demand, the city’s favorite fundraiser allows guests to sample live performances from our students and faculty and take exclusive back-stage tours of our state-of-the-art facilities. Patrons enjoy dinner by the bite from around the world as they tour CCM Village at this unique benefit event. Tickets are available now and include special pricing for Young Professionals! ‘Rent’ Producer Returns to CCM for Master Class

This evening, alumnus Kevin McCollum (’84)  returns to CCM to hold a master class for all Musical Theatre majors. McCollum will discuss the genesis of the musical Rent, which he produced on Broadway in 1996, and the film for which he served as executive producer. McCollum will also meet with the cast of CCM’s upcoming Mainstage Production of Rent this evening.

McCollum is currently preparing the forthcoming Broadway play Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo starring Robin Williams. Learn more about CCM’s revival of Rent after the jump.

“A Moveable Feast” Takes Guests Around the World

Join us for the return of “A Moveable Feast” on Friday, Jan. 21, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. Back by popular demand, the fundraiser features samplings of artistic and culinary delights while guests are transported around the world with a tour through CCM Village.

Guests may enjoy backstage tours and half hour samplings of student entertainment, including Chamber Music, Winds, Dance, Drama, Electronic Media, Big Band Jazz, Musical Theatre, Opera/Voice, Orchestra, Piano and Preparatory performances. By-the-bite cuisine accompanies the live entertainment. The evening’s program will begin in Corbett Auditorium with a Philharmonia and Chorale prelude and conclude with a Hot Jazz Finale at 10 p.m.

Tickets are $100 each for the general public and $75 each for “Friends of CCM” Members. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling 513-556-5000.

Event proceeds raised by the Friends of CCM, a group of 600 volunteers and an active board, support student scholarships for CCM “stars of tomorrow.”

CCM Provides Splendid 400th for Monteverdi’s Landmark Vespers of 1610

On Sunday, Nov. 21, CCM held its first Subscriber Thank You Event of the year at Christ Church Cathedral in Cincinnati. The CCM Chamber Choir and Philharmonia Chamber Orchestra performed Montevderi’s Vespers of 1610 at this very special concert. Music in Cincinnati‘s Mary Ellyn Hutton provides an excellent review of the concert here.

Enquirer Reviews CCM’s “Evita”
