The buzz continues to grow around CCM alumna Mia Gentile‘s recent YouTube video “The Stanley Steemer Variations!” A 2011 graduate of our Musical Theatre program, Gentile created the viral video with local musician/producer/CCM Beatles expert extraordinaire Roger Klug.

CityBeat’s Rick Pender featured the video on his blog last month – you can read his original post here – and Gentile has since been featured on Good Morning America in support of the video! Experience “The Stanley Steemer Variations” for yourself after the jump!

CCM’s Kate Garber, Mia Gentile and Adam Moser Named Acclaim Awards Rising Stars

Congratulations to our own Kate Garber, Mia Gentile and Adam Moser for being recognized as three of this year’s Acclaim Awards Rising Stars!

The Acclaim Awards, an initiative of Enquirer Media, has named six 2011 Rising Stars, artists and technicians under the age of 25 who have made extraordinary contributions to the local theatre scene. Each Rising Star will receive a $1,000 grant towards future endeavors, and all will be applauded at the annual Acclaim Awards celebration at 7 p.m. on May 23 at The Carnegie, 1028 Scott Blvd., Covington. CCM’s Rising Musical Theatre Stars Showcase Talents for Local Audiences

Cincinnati audiences will get a sneak peak of an original showcase created by the CCM Musical Theatre 2011 graduating class during the annual Musical Theatre Showcase, which runs from March 31 (Friends of CCM benefit performance)-April 2 in the Patricia Corbett Theater. The March 31 Friends of CCM benefit starts at 7 p.m. and features a post-performance celebration and dinner by the bite. The April 1-2 performances take place at 8 p.m. and are free, but reservations are required. Learn more after the jump.

CCM Adds Additional Performance to ‘RENT’s Sold-Out Run

Due to overwhelming demand, CCM has added an additional performance to the previously booked-up run of Jonathan Larson’s Rent, which opens on February 24 in Patricia Corbett Theater. Tickets are now available for an 8 p.m. performance on Wednesday, March 2This additional performance will include ASL interpretation for deaf and hearing-impaired patrons.

CCM Students Connect to Characters Embracing Life and Celebrating Love in Groundbreaking Musical “Rent”

As CCM prepares for its first production of Jonathan Larson’s revolutionary musical Rent – which runs February 24-27 and March 3-6 in the Patricia Corbett Theater in CCM Village – the young cast is finding energy and excitement in portraying characters their own age who embrace life in a city where many will one day live.
