Ariel Quartet’s CCM Debut Receives Rave Reviews

The acclaimed Ariel String Quartet made its official debut as a CCM quartet-in-residence before a capacity crowd in UC’s Robert J. Werner Recital Hall last night.

“If the artistry of their playing and the electricity in the hall are any indication, the Ariel has the potential to revive the glory days of the LaSalle Quartet, quartet-in-residence from 1953 to 1988, the last full-time resident quartet at the school,” Janelle Gelfand writes for the Cincinnati Enquirer. You can read her full review here.

CCM Announces Inaugural Concert Series for Ariel Quartet

CCM proudly presents the internationally-acclaimed Ariel String Quartet as part of its 2012-13 concert season with an inaugural concert scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 11, in the intimate Robert J. Werner Recital Hall.

Ariel Quartet Named Official String-Quartet-in-Residence of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music

Peter Landgren, dean and Thomas James Kelly professor of music at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), has announced that the internationally acclaimed Ariel Quartet has been named as a new string-quartet-in-residence at CCM.

As quartet-in-residence, the Ariel Quartet will present a series of public performances at CCM and its members will work closely with CCM’s student musicians providing chamber music coaching. This initial residency will be for three and a half years, committing this fine ensemble to CCM and the greater artistic community through the 2014 – 2015 academic year and concert season.

On Tuesday, April 26th the Cincinnati Playwrights Initiative (CPI New Voices) presents a new play based on the life of Henry Meyer, the late Holocaust survivor, distinguished professor of violin and founding member of the world-renowned LaSalle Quartet that for decades found its home here at CCM.
