Congratulations to CCM’s Yi Li, tenor, for being named the inaugural recipient of the Merola Opera Program‘s Zheng Cao Opera Fund award!
Each summer, this fund will sponsor one incoming Merola artist: either an Asian/Pacific artist or a mezzo-soprano. In addition to covering the artist’s training and housing costs, the Zheng Cao Fund will provide the additional funding needed to cover visa and travel costs associated with bringing an Asian/Pacific artist to San Francisco.

This Sunday at 9 p.m., WGUC 90.9 FM presents a special Chinese New Year-themed installment of The McGraw-Hill Companies Young Artists Showcase, featuring a performance by tenor Yi Li, a first-year Artist Diploma candidate at CCM.
Tune into WVXU‘s “Around Cincinnati” at 7 p.m. this Sunday for an interview with CCM’s Robin Guarino and Cincinnati Opera‘s Marcus Küchle.
They will discuss the groundbreaking Opera Fusion: New Works program with Anne Arenstein and announce the first composer from this historic collaboration!

Beginning at 7pm on Thursday, August 12th, the University of Cincinnati will present a very special recital featuring CCM Prep faculty and students. Set on the porch and plaza of UC’s Tangeman University Center, the recital is part of Play Me, I’m Yours: Greater Cincinnati, an internationally touring street-art exhibit featuring the work of Luke Jerram.
