CCM Drama and The Carnegie Present the Regional Premiere of ‘In The Next Room’ This Month

CCM’s Department of Drama and the Carnegie Visual and Performing Arts Center (The Carnegie) proudly present the regional premiere of the 2010 Pulitzer Prize finalist comedy/drama In The Next Room, or The Vibrator Play, playing weekends Nov. 4 – 20, 2011, in the historic Otto M. Budig Theatre at The Carnegie.

Staged by award-winning director Ed Cohen,  In The Next Room is the second production of both CCM’s 2011-12 Studio Series and the Carnegie’s 2011-12 Theatre Series. Tickets are $16 – $21 and are available at The Carnegie Box Office, 859.957.1940, or www.thecarnegie.com.

The reviews are in and the Enquirer‘s Jackie Demaline calls CCM’s Coram Boy “an enormous success for director Richard Hess and his company.” Read her full review here.

With a cast of over 30 actors, an on-stage chorus featuring 16 singers from Cincinnati Children’s Choir, a fight on a slave ship and a drowning in the Thames, Coram Boy kicks off CCM’s 2011-12 Mainstage Series in epic fashion.

Tickets are still available for this fascinating intertwining of drama and music, which runs through Oct. 30 in Patricia Corbett Theater.

Opera Fusion Featured on WVXU’s ‘Around Cincinnati’ This Weekend

CCM Announces Fall 2011 Calendar of Major Events

CCM is delighted to announce its fall schedule of major performances. Beginning Wednesday, September 28 CCM will present over 50 events, ranging from faculty and guest artist concerts to fully supported opera and musical theatre productions.

Whether it’s a swinging tribute to Frank Sinatra, a festival showcasing the talents of two Russian powerhouse composers, the regional premiere of a drama co-produced with The Carnegie Visual and Performing Arts Center, a world premiere produced in partnership with Cincinnati Opera, a revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s beloved Oklahoma! or a holiday-themed choral extravaganza, CCM’s fall schedule of performing arts events offers dozens of opportunities to be mesmerized and delighted.

CCM Announces 2011-12 Studio Series of Opera, Drama and Musical Theatre

CCM is pleased to announce details for the 2011-12 CCM Studio Series of opera, musical theatre and drama. This year’s Studio Series features nine productions in CCM’s intimate and versatile “black box” space, the Cohen Family Studio Theater, along with a regional premiere co-produced with The Carnegie Visual and Performing Arts Center, a world premiere produced in partnership with Cincinnati Opera and a festival of new dramatic works that will utilize spaces throughout CCM Village.

The Studio Series runs from Oct. 20, 2011 through May 27, 2012. Studio Series productions are held in CCM’s Cohen Family Studio Theater unless otherwise indicated. All Studio Series events held in the Cohen Family Studio Theater are free and open to the general public, although reservations are required. Reservations may be made the week of each show only by contacting the CCM Box Office by phone at 513-556-4183. For additional information, visit ccm.uc.edu.
