CCM welcomes the return of alumna Adrienne Danrich (MM Voice, 1995) for a special 150th Anniversary guest artist recital at 2 p.m. this Sunday, Oct. 22 at CCM’s Robert J. Werner Recital Hall.
The soprano will perform a free recital “Of Legends and Contemporaries,” with accompaniment from Lydia Brown, piano; Marcus Küchle, piano; and Bill Willits, guitar. The program features works by Richard Wagner, Francis Poulenc and Sergei Rachmaninoff along with pieces by contemporary composers including Ricky Ian Gordon and Danrich herself. Complete repertoire is below.
An award winning singer, writer, composer and educator, Danrich is a versatile artist based in New York City. She is most notably recognized for winning a Midwest Emmy for her performance and narration of This Little Light of Mine: The Stories of Marian Anderson and Leontyne Price, which she also created. In 2006, the Cincinnati Opera commissioned Danrich to write and perform the one-woman show, which has since been presented over 80 times across the United States and televised on PBS Milwaukee and Cincinnati’s WCET.
Experience Danrich’s artistry in person during her free recital this Sunday, Oct. 22 at CCM’s Robert J. Werner Recital Hall. Danrich’s return to her alma mater during CCM’s 150th Anniversary Celebration is not to be missed.
