UC’s News Record recently profiled CCM alumnus Ken Davis (’89), who is currently serving as production stage manager for the Broadway national tour of Rock of Ages. This is Davis’ ninth such tour. “I’ve helped set up Spamalot in Australia, I’ve taken tours to Japan, and nothing was as hard as some of the things we had to go through at CCM for our training,” he explains. “The standards they hold us to are so high, and now I see we were so well prepared that this is easy compared to the stuff they had us do there.” You can read the full News Record article here.

CCM Holds Candlelight Vigil in Memory of Student Andrew Howell

A candlelight vigil will be held in remembrance of musician, student and valued friend Andrew Howell in the CCM Alumni Gardens on Wednesday, Oct. 27 at 8 p.m. A slideshow compiled by Howell’s friends and colleagues will be shown in the adjacent Baur Room during this time. Interim Dean Frank Weinstock and Professor of Horn Randy Gardner will say a few words and the CCM Horn Studio will perform.

The Alumni Gardens, home to the iconic Pan fountain, are located just past the breezeway between the Corbett Center for the Performing Arts and CCM Memorial Hall. The gardens are also accessible from the Baur Room. More information on the event is available here.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to Howell’s family, friends and instructors during this time.
