Based on the classic novel by Nobel Prize-winning author John Steinbeck, Of Mice and Men tells the story of George and Lennie, two displaced farm hands during the Great Depression. Chasing the American dream to someday own their own stake of land, the pair travels across the California countryside in search of work. When their journey leads them into trouble, one friend must make a tragic choice to save the other. Sung in English with supertitles. Opening night will feature special pre- and post-performance talks by Maestro Carlisle Floyd.

Emmy Award-Winning Student Video: Today Cincinnati

Congratulations to recent CCM Electronic Media Division graduates Dustin Chow and Steven Shaefer on their 2010 National Student Emmy Award-win. Chow and Shaefer won the Emmy for “Music-Best Use” for their experimental musical montage, “Today,” featuring an original song composed by Shaefer and performed by the band Where They Landed, of which both Shaefer and Chow are members. “Today” was also a nominee in the “Music-Composition” category. A Video Postcard from Spoleto

David Adams, Artistic Director of CCM Spoleto, and Sandro Frontalini, Direttore della Cultura, Comune di Spoleto, at Piazza del Duomo, Spoleto, Italy. The video was shot during preparations for the inaugural season (2010) of CCM Spoleto, a 5-week course for singers, instrumentalists, conductors, accompanists, and theatre technicians. The 2010 inaugural season runs from July 12 through August 15.

Shipboard shenanigans abound as CCM presents Cole Porter’s Anything Goes. The beloved musical opens Thursday, February 25 and offers an extended run performance, ending with a Sunday matinee on March 7. The show is a vintage affair of fabulous music and dazzling dance, set aboard the S.S. American cruise liner. Anything Goes, performed in CCM’s Patricia Corbett Theater, promises to turn back time to the 1930’s for an evening of irresistible humor and excitement.

An annual favorite, the PRISM Concert features 60 minutes of non-stop music performed from various locations in Corbett Auditorium. This year’s production pays special tribute to the United States Armed Forces and will feature performances by the Wind Symphony, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Combo, and assorted guests.
