Celebrate the kick-off of CCM Dance’s 50th anniversary with an exciting program of mixed repertoire on Nov. 16 and 17! This concert showcases George Balanchine’s masterpiece SERENADE, set to music by Tchaikovsky and staged by guest répétiteur and Balanchine authority Joysanne Sidimus.
The program also features “The Kingdom of the Shades” from Petipa’s LA BAYADÈRE, restaged by Assistant Professor Deirdre Carberry and set to music by Ludwig Minkus, and THE UNSEEN, an exhilarating work by Cincinnati Ballet Choreographer and Artistic Director Victoria Morgan set to Opuses from Mendelssohn’s Songs Without Words.
The two Saturday performances include Associate Professor Michael Tevlin’s new work POETRY FROM THE WHITE PAVILION set to music by Gustav Mahler.
Sunday’s matinee performance also includes the stars and young dancers from Cincinnati Ballet performing excerpts from THE NUTCRACKER and the upcoming world premiere of KING ARTHUR’S CAMELOT, both choreographed by Victoria Morgan. A selection of CAPRICE by Val Caniparoli will also be performed.
