The Cincinnati Enquirer published its Winter Arts Guide over the weekend, and the compendium was absolutely filled with upcoming CCM happenings!

Janelle Gelfand highlighted CCM’s movie music-themed concert (featuring Hollywood film composer and distinguished UC alumnus Randy Edelman) on Jan. 27, our celebration of Giuseppe Verdi’s 200th birthday (with two performances of his stunning Requiem setting) on Feb. 1 and 2, the CCM Philharmonia’s participation in the Greater Cincinnati Chinese Music Society‘s annual Chinese New Year Concert on Feb. 16, CCM Opera d’arte’s free presentation of Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro Feb. 22 – 24 and our monumental Mahler Marathon on March 2!

Gelfand’s guide to “Major Music Artists and Rising Stars” also featured an upcoming double bill of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Zaide and Carl Maria von Weber’s Abu Hassan presented by our community partners Queen City Chamber Opera from Jan. 25 – 27 in Faith Auditorium at the Cincinnati Art Museum.

Jackie Demaline also featured CCM’s upcoming Mainstage Series production of Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht’s The Threepenny Opera  (Feb. 28 – March 10) in her list of “don’t-miss” theatrical offerings.

CCM presents more than 100 major public performances now through May 19, 2013. Highlights also include CCM E-Media’s presentation of the 10-part Global Lens Film Series (Jan. 14 – April 15), Cincinnati Children’s Choir’s 20th anniversary celebration (March 9) and the Classical Guitar Department’s 40th anniversary celebration (April 6).
