The April 29th issue of the Cincinnati Enquirer spotlighted the work of CCM MFA candidate Karestin Harrison, who was invited to present her “Fake Food Feast and Cook Book” showcase at this year’s United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) National Conference in Long Beach in late March.
Harrison was one of just 12 young theatre technicians invited to present her work at the conference. “This included set designers, costume designers, lighting designers, a couple of costume craft people and one other props person,” explains Harrison. “What was great about that was that I did fake food and he did weaponry, so our presentations were very different! I got a lot of great feedback at the conference and now everyone is asking when I’m going to publish the book. I’m in talks with a publisher now, so we’ll see what happens!”
