CCM’s Wind Symphony will present “European Excursions,” a dynamic concert of music from many periods, at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 27, in Corbett Auditorium.
Under the direction of Glenn D. Price, the program features the rich musical traditions of Europe, with offerings from the Renaissance to the Baroque to modern-day compositions.
Audiences will have the chance to hear old, recognizable favorites such as Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D Minor and Prokofiev’s March, Op. 99, as well as newer works such as Musica Boema by Czech composer Lukas. The concert will survey a wide range of European styles and influences, highlighting the differences between the Western European tradition and more exotic, folk-influenced works.
