The science fiction film Chronicle topped the box office last weekend and CCM alumnus Elliot Greenberg had a large part in the film’s success. The film was edited by Greenberg, who graduated from CCM E-Media in 2001. You can view the trailer for the film below:
Greenberg’s success does not come as a surprise to those who knew him while he was pursuing his degree. E-Media Associate Professor Kevin Burke elaborates that Greenberg “has worked hard and come up through the ranks of assistant editors in LA, while learning from a number of talented editors and directors.”
Greenberg takes a casual and humble attitude toward his success. “His response to it all: ‘pretty crazy isn’t it?’” recounts Burke.
Having begun his West Coast career immediately following graduation, Greenberg has had the opportunity to work on several other films, including Devil, Sorority Row and Quarantine. While at CCM, one of Greenberg’s major collaborative projects was the award-winning student film Eastern Standard Time, which will be shown at an upcoming E-Media event.
Chronicle is about three high school friends who gain superpowers after making an incredible discovery. Soon, though, they find their lives spinning out of control and their bond tested as they embrace their darker sides. The film grossed $22 million when it opened the first weekend in February and over $40 million to date.
