This Sunday at 9 p.m., WGUC 90.9 FM presents a special Chinese New Year-themed installment of The McGraw-Hill Companies Young Artists Showcase, featuring a performance by tenor Yi Li, a first-year Artist Diploma candidate at CCM.
Yi Li – who grew up in the Chengdu province and studied at Sichuan Conservatory of Music in China – shares some of his favorite Chinese folk songs, including Under the Silver Moonlight and Love Song from the Grassland, accompanied by CCM Professor of Music and Director of Orchestral Studies Mark Gibson.
A semi-finalist in the Houston Grand Opera Young Artist Competition, Yi can next be seen on the CCM stage singing the role of Don Ottavio in our upcoming production of Don Giovanni.
Tune in to WGUC at 9 p.m. on Feb. 5 to hear his Young Artists Showcase performance!
