CCM Winds' 2010 Prism XIII Concert

CCM’s Wind Symphony and Wind Ensemble bring their fall concert series to a close with two performances this week.

At 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov.  29, the Wind Symphony presents “The World of Stravinsky” in Corbett Auditorium. The repertoire will include Stravinsky’s Symphonies of Wind Instruments (1920), Ebony Concerto, Fireworks and L’Oiseau de Feu (The Firebird) – 1919 Suite. Glenn D. Price conducts. Tickets to this concert are $12 general admission, $5 non-UC students and FREE for UC students with a valid ID.

At 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, the Wind Ensemble presents a concert of “Some Standard Fare” in Corbett Auditorium, featuring William Bergsma’s March with Trumpets, John Barnes Chance’s Elegy, Ludwig van Beethoven’s Geschwindmarsch No. 1 in F, Paul Hindemith’s Geschwindmarsch from Symphonia Serena, Vittorio Giannini’s Symphony No. 3 and Henry Fillmore’s two Cincinnati marches: The Klaxon March and The Crosley March. Terence Milligan conducts. This concert is FREE and open to the general public.
