CCM’s Early Music Lab offers a short presentation of Gregorian, Old Roman and Beneventan Chant from 11:10 a.m. until 12 noon on Wednesday, Nov. 30 in room 100 of the Dieterle Vocal Arts Center. The performance is free and open to the general public.
Presented by the students of HILT 571, the morning program will feature an Introit (sung from the tenth century manuscript Laon, Bibliothèque municipale MS 239), Gregorian chant for Advent and Christmas, an Old Roman melody from the Graduale of Santa Cecilia in Trastevere and a selection of medieval devotional songs from Italy and Spain.
The program is directed by Assistant Professor of Musicology Matthew Peattie.
