The CCM Preparatory Department has a variety of exciting events planned for this spring and summer. Mark your calendars now for fall semester, which begins September 10. Pre-registration will begin soon. Additionally, summer camps are filling quickly in ballet, orchestra, jazz, piano, guitar and theatre arts. Check out the Summer Happenings, 2011 brochure for all the opportunities here. Learn more about CCM Prep’s May events after the jump.

If you happen to be in the Oakley Square vicinity on Saturday, May 7 from 2:00-2:30PM, I highly recommend seeing students from the CCM Starling Preparatory Strings Project perform several classical pieces and demonstrate the Sassmannshaus Tradition method. They will be performing at the Blue Manatee Children’s Bookstore and de café.  For more information go to bluemanateebooks.com. Grab a smoothie or a latte while you are there and enjoy!

On Friday, May 13 relax, browse and shop over 20 artist studios at Brazee Street Studios in Oakley!  The featured entertainment that evening will be two dramatic half-hour performances featuring the talents of CCM Prep Theatre Department students. The first will begin at 7:30PM and the second will follow at 8:30PM. Open Studio is in conjunction with Oakley After Hours. Find out more at brazeestreetstudios.com.

At Patricia Corbett Theater on Saturday, May 14, check out theatre arts and dance students performing in showcases from 9:00-4:30PM.  The complete schedule is at ccm.uc.edu/prep. See samplings of ballet, tap, acting, voice and musical theatre performances throughout the day!

Finally, there will be opportunities to sample the wonderful CCM Prep classes and to pre-register for the Fall Semester during the Achievement Festival and end of year celebration on Saturday, May 21 in Mary Emery Hall from 9:00AM until 3:00PM. This is the last Saturday of the 2010-2011 school year. We also cap off this past year with an Inaugural Year-end All Prep Picnic from 11:00-1:00!  The CCM Prep office is looking for volunteers and donations to make this picnic a success. So, if you can help, please contact Elizabeth Boland at elizabeth.boland@uc.edu or 513-556-9467.
