A Little Night Music
Music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim
Book by Hugh Wheeler
Steven Goldstein, director
Anthony DeAngelis, musical director

Based on Ingmar Bergman’s Smiles of a Summer Night, this lyrical Tony Award-winning masterpiece is set at a country house in Sweden at the turn of the century. Impossible liaisons and long-simmering passions come to light as the sun steadfastly refuses to set and the night smiles three times: once for the lovers, once for the dreamers and once for the fools. Witty and urbane, A Little Night Music fully captures the intricacies of love’s endless possibilities in haunting three-quarter time.

Rent
Music, lyrics and book by Jonathan Larson
Richard E. Hess, director
Steve Goers, musical director
Diane Lala, choreographer

The breakthrough musical of the 1990s, Rent resets Puccini’s La bohème in the lower East Side of New York City. The Bohemian artists and poets of the original are now contemporary figures working on the fringes of the art world, finding humor, conflict and love in an environment struggling under the specter of AIDS. The winner of four Tony Awards and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, this rock opera is a challenging, emotional and deeply moving portrait of a new generation. Due to its adult themes, this production is intended for mature audiences.

Location: Patricia Corbett Theater
Tickets: $27-$29, $17-$19 students, $11 student rush tickets available for Saturday matinees beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 26 and March 5; limit two rush tickets per student ID.
