Today, we are delighted to provide you with a first look at CCM’s Winter Mainstage Musical, Jonathan Larson’s Rent. The breakthrough musical of the 1990s comes to CCM’s Patricia Corbett Theater for an extended run, Feb. 24 – Mar. 6, 2011. Don’t miss your chance to experience this challenging, emotional and deeply moving rock opera. Tickets and subscription packages are on sale now.
The winner of four Tony Awards and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Rent resets Puccini’s La bohème in the lower East Side of New York City. The Bohemian artists and poets of the original are now contemporary figures working on the fringes of the art world, finding humor, conflict and love in an environment struggling under the specter of AIDS. This production is directed by Richard E. Hess with musical direction by Steve Goers and choreography by Diane Lala. Due to its adult themes, this production is intended for mature audiences. CCM gratefully acknowledges the support of Season Production Sponsor Macy’s and Musical Theatre Program Sponsor The Otto M. Budig Family Foundation.
Tickets: $27-$29, $17-$19 students, $11 student rush tickets available for Saturday matinees beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 26 and March 5; limit two rush tickets per student ID. Contact the CCM Box Office at 513-556-4183 for more information.
