CCM ushers in the holidays this weekend with Feast of Carols, an annual concert featuring treasured sounds of the season as performed by the CCM Chamber Choir, Chorale and Concert Orchestra; UC Men’s and Women’s Choruses, Cincinnati Children’s Choir and outstanding area high school choirs.
A tradition that dates back decades, Feast of Carols features an eclectic mix of holiday songs ranging from the traditional “O Come All Ye Faithful” and “Away in a Manger” to the classic “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” to the contemporary “This Little Babe” from A Ceremony of Carols (Britten) and “Lux Aurumque” (Eric Whitacre).
The featured guest choir on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 5 p.m. is Lakota West High School Chorale, Anthony Nims, director.
The Sunday, Dec. 5, 2 p.m. concert features St. Xavier High School Chorus, Karl Thomsen, director.
This impressive festival of choirs will conclude Sunday, Dec. 5 at 5 p.m. with The Elder High School Chorus, David Allen, director.
