More than 300 choir voices will fill the halls of Corbett Auditorium with favorite holiday songs during CCM’s annual Feast of Carols on December 4 and 5. The festivities will include treasured sounds of the season performed by CCM Chamber Choir, Chorale and Concert Orchestra; UC Men’s and Women’s Choruses, Cincinnati Children’s Choir and outstanding area high school choirs. Performances will take place on Saturday, December 4 at 5 p.m. and Sunday, December 5 at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. in Corbett Auditorium at the University of Cincinnati.

The annual Feast of Carols – a tradition that dates back decades – will feature an eclectic mix of holiday songs ranging from the traditional “O Come All Ye Faithful” and “Away in a Manger” to the classic “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” to the contemporary “This Little Babe” from A Ceremony of Carols (Britten) and “Lux Aurumque” (Eric Whitacre).

“Feast of Carols is like going to Radio City Music Hall in New York,” said Earl Rivers, director of choral studies at CCM. “It’s a bit of classics, it’s a bit of pops, gospel and Broadway. It has everything you can imagine for the holiday season.”

Rivers joins conductors Brett Scott, Olga Artemova, Brandon Dead, Robyn Lana, David Allen, Anthony Nims and Karl Thomsen in inviting audiences to sing along to favorite holiday carols during the spectacular Feast of Carols finale. In addition to CCM’s ensembles and the Cincinnati Children’s Choir, outstanding high school choirs from the Cincinnati area will join in the festivities.

The featured guest choir on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 5 p.m. is Lakota West High School Chorale, Anthony Nims, director.

The Sunday, Dec. 5, 2 p.m. concert features St. Xavier High School Chorus, Karl Thomsen, director.

This impressive festival of choirs will conclude Sunday, Dec. 5 at 5 p.m. with The Elder High School Chorus, David Allen, director.
