CCM E-Media presents the Global Film Initiative’s 2012 Global Lens film series.

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music’s Division of Electronic Media (CCM E-Media) and the University of Cincinnati Libraries will host free public screenings of 10 award-winning narrative feature films from Albania, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Iran, Iraq, Morocco, Rwanda and Turkey this spring as part of the Global Film Initiative’s 2012 Global Lens film series.

All films will be shown at 2 p.m. on Mondays in the TUC MainStreet Cinema on the campus of the University of Cincinnati.

Later this fall, CCM’s Studio Series proudly presents The Laramie Project by Moisés Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theater Project. As a lead-in to this powerful production, CCM’s Department of Drama will also host a unique play reading series and symposium from Oct. 15–19, exploring other cultural touchstones of the American gay canon of dramatic literature. These events are intended for mature audiences.

CCM alumnus and Mamma Mia! star Aaron Lazar (MFA ’00) was featured on Broadway.com’s “Broadway Buzz” column earlier this week.

Aubrey Berg at the Cincinnati Conservatory gave me the chance to perform with the best in the country in Broadway caliber productions,” Lazar explains. “I had two years of invaluable time spent learning the art of musical theater from Bubba. He directed me as Cervantes/Quixote in Man of La Mancha and to this day it’s one of the top performances I’ve given.”
