CCM’s “Realizing Rossini” summer workshop, featured on WCPO TV.

Tune in to Cincinnati’s WCPO Channel 9 noon newscast today, as Arts Reporter Matt Peiken provides a look inside CCM’s Realizing Rossini opera boot camp. Conductors and pianists, along with a carefully selected cast, are participating in this one-of-a-kind experience while in residence at CCM.

Join the young artists of CCM’s Opera Studio summer program as they explore art song and the operatic repertoire in recital in the beautiful CCM Village. Admission is free and reservations are not required.

In the quaint village of Seville, the beautiful Rosina is courted by quite a few men, and the quick-witted barber Figaro is in the middle of it all! One of Rossini’s most beloved works, this sparkling comic opera will be presented semi-staged and will showcase the talented young vocalists and instrumentalists taking part in CCM’s Realizing Rossini summer workshop.

The young artists of CCM’s Opera Studio summer program are excited to share scenes from some of the most beloved works in the canon.

Location: Cohen Family Studio Theater

Based on the fairytale Cendrillon by Charles Perrault
Featuring student conductors from CCM’s Summer Workshops

Not quite the classic fairytale you remember, this popular take on the Cinderella story presents a disheveled stepfather and his two daughters who are unprepared for Prince Ramiro to take an interest in stepdaughter Angelina. One of Rossini’s funniest operas, La Cenerentola will be presented semi-staged and will showcase the talented young vocalists and instrumentalists taking part in CCM’s Realizing Rossini summer workshop.
